Hotel 'The Oasis' Marsa Alam, Egypt
is a intimate, pretty, comfortable hotel for divers and for those seeking tranquillity. It is situated on a long beach just north of Marsa Alam. The resort captivates with it's unique architecture, it's intimate ambient and it's tranquillity. At the moment, it consists of 49 chalets arranged around the main building in the form of a Bedouin village with small alleyways and winding steps of fossilized coral stone.
The especially beautiful ambient conjured up by the dimmed floor lighting captivates the guests as they enter the reception area. And the view of the Red Sea from the terrace, with the whole of this lovely resort at your feet is unforgettable.
"The Oasis" is situated in South Egypt, about 20km north of the small village of Marsa Alam. It lies directly on the coast of the Red Sea, on a long, sweeping beach.
This oasis of tranquillity is embedded in very spacious grounds, for enough from the road so as not to be disturb by the noise from air traffic.
The resort is at a distance of about 25 minutes drive away from the international airport Marsa Alam (about 40km to the south). The international airport Hurghada lies 270 km to the north of "The Oasis". The transfer takes around 3 hours on roads along the beautiful coast of the Red Sea and which, meanwhile, are now in good condition.
If you are arriving form a boat safari we would be happy to arrange the transfer from/to Port Ghalib or other harbours.
Rooms and Chalets
The 49 spacious and individually decorated chalets available at the moment are built with natural building materials in Nubian style with much attention spend on details.
Each of these chalets is unique with an individual floor plan and varying stylish elements and colours influence the very tastefully decorated rooms.
Also there is an unrestricted and breathtaking view of the sea from the terrace of every chalet!
All chalets consist of a main room, a spacious bathroom with shower
(except for Chalet 23 "the red one", which has a bath with a splendid view of the sea)
The rooms are kept cool due to the natural building style of the Nubians. Ceiling fans and air condition has also been installed to supply additional cool air during warmer nights.
A mini bar is also supplied in all chalets.
Rooms are available with either single or double beds (respectively two separate single beds - "twin").
Besides the reception and the offices, the main building also houses a small bazaar and the diving centre. Here it is also possible to make small purchases.
A further highlight in the resort is the large and deep (making it perfect for diving instruction) pool. Whilst relaxing in this pool, you are also rewarded with a terrific view of the sea.
"The Oasis" is something very special. Very few places in Egypt offer the quiet and relaxation you can enjoy here.

Since the opening of its international airport in 2001, Marsa Alam has become a great Red Sea destination for diving enthusiasts. Nestled between sea and desert, the town offers all kinds of accommodations, ranging from upscale comfort establishments with complete Western amenities to Bedouin-inspired eco-lodges. Dive sites accessible from Marsa Alam number among the most attractive in the Red Sea for experienced divers. Healthy coral reefs and the wide range of underwater wildlife such as dugongs and dolphins are the principal draw factors of Marsa Alam. For less experienced divers, in-shore coral reefs are the ideal location for hours of marine wildlife watching.
The new Port Ghalib Marina at Marsa Alam added to the location a very exclusive standing, with its luxurious hotels, resorts and berthing space for about 1000 yachts. The newly built marina offers some of the best relaxation and entertainment options on the Red Sea coast, including gourmet restaurants and tantalizing Spas.
Additionally the resort houses the International Convention Center, the only multipurpose state-of-the-art centre of its size on the Red Sea. The centre offers a meeting space of 1,950 sq. m. that is capable of hosting all events from full scale conventions of 2,000 delegates to informal small size meetings.
Marsa Alam is also a world-renowned kite surfing destination, and an ideal starting point for safaris and wilderness exploration. In ancient times, the surrounding mountains were mined for gold and emeralds - today you can visit some of these ancient mines. It is located 274 km south of Hurghada city. The pleasant climate makes it a great vacation spot, winter temperatures have been known to reach 88°F / 31°C and in summer they lie between 20 and 35°C / 68 an 95°F.
The nearby National Parks of Gebel Elba and Wadi al Gimal are home to a stunning variety of birds and desert animals. Marsal Alam is also known as a therapeutic destination. So whether it is the beach, the desert, the reefs or a combination of sightseeing and activities you’re interested in, you’ll love Marsa Alam.
