Hotel Siddhartha Dive Resort & Spa

The Siddhartha Dive Resort & Spa, built in 2009, set a new standard for hotels in the north-eastern region of the island. This hotel offers you the luxury of a Boutique-Hotel with stunning architecture in a fabulous setting, yet prices are still reasonable. Something that you too, can afford! In spite of the luxury, the mood here is nevertheless informal & relaxed. You will be able to truly relax & unwind. This is a fantastic diving resort for the increasing demand in this type of holiday. The hotel has 7 Superior bungalows, 18 deluxe bungalows, 5 Ocean Front Deluxe bungalows as well as the "Santai" & "Pantai" - 2 dream villas with their own swimming pool.

Location

The Siddhartha Dive Resort & Spa is situated directly on the beach in the small village of Kubu on Bali's north-east coast, far from all the commercial tourism. The 30 bungalows & villas blend in perfectly with the enormous 2.66 hectare surrounding terraced landscape.

The stunningly beautiful tropical garden has been, knowledgeably & with great attention to detail, created around the existing palm trees and natural vegetation. Furthermore, there is more than 180m of beachfront. And practically all the bungalows have an ocean view, thanks to the slightly sloping landscape.

Bali's most holy mountain, the imposing 3142m high "Mount Agung", towers in the background. This is the seat of the Gods!!!

Additional information

The Siddhartha Dive Resort & Spa is another innovation of Werner Lau in Bali. It all started with the opening of his diving centers at the Pondok Sari & Matahari back in 2003. Then in 2006 came the Alam Anda, his own hotel, which has made Werner Lau a legend in Bali. Now, with the opening of the new Siddhartha Dive & Spa Resort, the Lau group has increased the selection of resorts from which to choose in Bali. Stefan Brand & Barbara Ebel, Werner's "partners in crime" for many years, are not only his business partners in this new venture but will also be managing the diving center. The resort has been designed & set up with considerable contribution from Wolfram Siegmeth. "Sigi" is also the person who was responsible for the complete renovation of the Alam Anda.

Transfer

You will get your first impressions of the beauty of the landscape and the cultural diversity of Bali on the 3 hour journey, which takes you past rice fields, temples & small villages, from the airport in Denpasar to the Siddhartha Dive Resort and Spa.

Siddhartha is the ancient name for Buddha & means something like: "To become enlightened". For us, this is also true of our experience. All our experience and passion for diving has been channelled into this venture. We hope that you will find everything that you have ever looked for, at the Siddhartha: your ultimate holiday destination.

Here, you will still be able to experience the real Bali with its' cultural & typical way of life. The ceremonies our guests are allowed to attend are genuine, & not shows created only for tourists.

We have become integrated into the community of the neighbouring village of Kubu. Most of our colleagues & their families have lived and worked here for generations & are deeply attached to this area they call home. You are therefore considered special guests & are most welcome in our "home". Our hospitality is evident from the very first moment.

Restaurant Siddhartha Tantris

The name of the restaurant "Tantris" together with its exquisite architectural design & location was specifically chosen.

The term "Tantric" comes from the Indian-Buddhist culture. We believe that pleasure is an intrinsic part of a balanced lifestyle. This is our main focus. Tantrism is the assimilation between the mind & the material world. Pleasure without remorse.
With this as our inspiration, we invite you to enjoy our mouth-watering cuisine prepared & served according to the highest standards, in the most comfortable environment you can imagine.

Our restaurant immediately invokes a sense of calm precision, as a result of the attention given to each & every fine detail. The furniture, lighting, seating arrangement, soft music & accessories, such as flower decorations, are all in perfect harmony & further accentuate the buildings' architecture & view of the ocean perfectly. Dining here is a multisensory experience.

Our restaurant is able to cater for every occasion, whether it is a romantic dinner for two or a relaxed dinner with friends. It will also be our pleasure to organize other private events such as birthdays, weddings or wedding anniversaries & other special anniversaries, for you.

You'll not only find the best local wines, but also a good selection of international wines on the wine list. The individual open plan layout provides a pleasant additional alternative.

The menu can be described as "Asian Fusion": The delicious contrasting flavours produced by influences from the east & west, result in an absolutely unique culinary experience. The availability of a variety of international specialities & traditional Indonesian dishes concludes our culinary selection.

This all-embracing & multifaceted evening is also complemented by themed buffet evenings such as the Balinese or Indonesian rice table, BBQ grill evening with live music & Garden & Full Moon parties.

There is a culinary presentation of a specially selected country/region every week during the Siddhartha theme week. This can range from Japanese sushi & Italian pasta to Indonesian Redang. Our friendly & competent colleagues eagerly await your visit.

Exotic dishes have been part of the European cuisine for quite some time - but where do you learn best to prepare them with all tricks and finesse?
Of course, where they come from. You don't only learn Balinese cookery in the lofty kitchen of the Tantris Restaurant at Siddhartha Dive Resort & Spa, but also everything worth knowing about the local spices and other ingredients. This is exactly the right atmosphere to prepare special dishes like Nasi Goreng, Kari Ikan or Urab Bunics yourself with the professional instructions of a Balinese cook.

The courses take place every Thursday for 2 to 4 participants. At 6.30 a.m. you will go shopping together with Siddhartha's chef Ida Baguas at the local market. At 12.00 p.m. you will start cooking in the restaurant with the instructions of Ida Bagus. Starter, main course and dessert are on the schedule - all of them typical Balinese dishes. Of course, you will enjoy your own culinary creations after cooking them.
